About EP Summit
Over a decade of building bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses.
Our Mission
The Economic Partnership Summit works to develop Indigenous partnerships with industry opportunities by bringing together businesses, leaders, and Indigenous communities primarily within Treaty 6 Territory.

Each year, the Summit creates space to explore best practices, share successful models, and build meaningful partnerships that strengthen regional economic growth.

Hosted annually in Lloydminster, the Summit represents a collaborative effort between Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce, City of Lloydminster, Onion Lake Cree Nation, Heart of Treaty 6 Reconciliation, LPSD, LCSD, Lakeland College, Startup Lloydminster, Lloydminster Construction Association, TEAMS Alberta, SIIT, Synergy Credit Union, Red Bicycle Communications, and Rikki Ducharme - Mental Health Consultant, recognizing the importance of Indigenous participation in a thriving regional economy.

The Medicine Wheel
The Medicine Wheel represents the sun, the cycle of life, and the interconnectedness of all people.
In Cree teachings, the Medicine Wheel reflects balance and respect for the four directions, each represented by a colour:
-
Red
-
Yellow
-
Black
-
White
These colours also symbolize:
-
The four races of people
-
The four seasons
-
The four aspects of life: spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental
The logo serves as a reminder of balance, interconnectedness, and the importance of relationships built with respect for all peoples.

Treaty 6 & Lloydminster
Treaty 6 Territory spans central Alberta and Saskatchewan and is home to many First Nations and Métis communities.

The EP Summit takes place in Lloydminster, a unique border city that connects two provinces and serves as a natural meeting point for businesses across Treaty 6.
Through the Economic Partnership Summit Committee’s dedication and organization, the Summit is able to support collaboration, innovation, and shared prosperity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
Truth & Reconciliation in Action
The EP Summit is a practical expression of reconciliation in action.
By creating intentional space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses to connect, learn, and collaborate, the Summit supports Call to Action #92 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which calls on the corporate sector to:
-
Adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples;
-
Commit to meaningful consultation;
-
Build respectful, long-term partnerships with Indigenous communities;
-
Economic reconciliation is not just a principle—it is a practice. When we build together, communities and economies grow together.

Planning for tomorrow
The EP Summit continues to evolve each year with a focus on:

-
Expanding partnerships across Treaty territories
-
Increasing meaningful business connections
-
Strengthening educational programming
-
Highlighting emerging opportunities in energy, technology, and infrastructure
